I have been offered by my dentist to have my implant done (at half the regular price which is $3000.00)by him to pass his implant examine under the guidance of a dental surgeon who has done 2000 of these surgeries. Should I do it? It is complicated to let someone do their first one in my mouth. It is my eye tooth. Any dentists out there to advise me. Tks. This surgery is scheduled for this sunday, so I need some feedback fast.

I am a qualified oral surgeon with about 900 implants to my name. The surgery required is actually quite simple, and can be carried out by any dentist reasonably competant in the field of oral surgery. I’m sure that with the extra supervision of the tutor your dentist will do an excellent job. The saving of $1500 is just an added bonous.

I had an implant done last year by very well known and highly recommended oral surgeon and dentist (that is 2 guys) (I did my research up front). The process appears to be totally successful and the total cost was around
$2,500. This was in Chapel hill, NC

doesn’t cost 3000 to place a single implant by a surgeon ; 2000 at the most.As far as his ability to do it under supervision it’s probably ok but he should charge what the manufacturer charges him; while you are getting the benefit of getting the implant done ; he is getting the benefit of having a patient for what HE needs too.

Dear dental implant: Would you believe if I tell you taht you can have your dental impalnt plus the crown that goes on top for $ 900 canadian dollars? That is around 700 U.S dollars.
